Cookouts, bonfires and fireworks – Oh my!

It’s Independence Day! You know what that means? Everyone is getting together celebrating America. Every year for as long as I can remember, we go to a good family friend’s house. It’s a great time to see the people you haven’t seen in a while. We all have excuses that get in the way of seeing those who matter to us. Life just tends to get in the way!

At our friends house there’s food, drinks and swimming. AKA – a good time. We catch up with friends, share what’s going on in our lives and celebrate each other’s successes.

The main event that most people look forward to on the 4th is fireworks. Essentially all the cities around northeastern Ohio have a fireworks display this weekend. When I was younger, we use to go to my grandma’s house to watch the show. This year, my hometown’s show is on Saturday. If you’re in the area check out where you can catch the boom of the fireworks! Not in northeastern Ohio? Check out this article that talks about other places in the US and their celebrations.

If you’re celebrating today, enjoy the time with your friends and family. If you don’t celebrate, try and make a point to get out and see those you care about. Life is busy. But what is life without those you love? Happy Independence Day and happy weekend!
